General Information

This family-friendly itinerary is a relaxed exploration of the enchanting princely domains of Rajasthan.This trip is filled with all the buzz and excitement of the cities of Delhi, Jaipur and Agra. It is a comprehensive introduction to the fascinating culture, spectacular Moghul and Hindu architecture with a backdrop of rich and varied culture and historical splendor and unfathomable experiences into Hinduism in the holy city of Varanasi.


Day 01: Arrival Delhi transfer to Hotel

Upon arrival at the International airport of Delhi and after the traditional & ‘Swagat’  (Welcome) we transfer to the
hotel for check-in. Rest of the day is free day to relax.


Day 02: Delhi Full Day Sightseeing

Nested in the heart of the city, Lodhi Gardens is the best place to begin your Delhi mornings. Admire the royal tombs and ancient verandas that adorn this beautiful heritage of Delhi. Mesmerize in the morning beauty and calm serenity of this famous tourist destination in Delhi, followed by our Visit to Humayu’s Tomb, supposed to be an inspiration for the Taj Mahal, and Qutub Minar, a 72.5 meters high exquisite ‘Tower of Victory’, the tallest at that time. Followed by our visit to Rajghat – the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, the ‘father of our nation’ Proceeding to New Delhi, we drive past the Presidential Palace, Secretariat Buildings and down the impressive Rajpath to India Gate.

Evening Visit to Bangla Sahib Gurudwara magnificent, huge, white-marble Gurdwara, topped by glinting golden onion domes, constructed at the site where the eighth Sikh guru, Harkrishan Dev, stayed before his 1664
death. Inspite of being in the center of the city, the place is free from the hustle/bustle of the city and one can feel
the spiritual vibes the places has. The sanctum sanctorum is the main temple building that houses the Guru Granth
Sahib. Raagis (classical singers) sing verses from the Holy Book throughout the day, adding to the overall spiritual
experience. (Red Fort in Delhi will remain closed on all Monday)

Optional Activities in Delhi

An experience to voluntarily work/see people working in a common kitchen: Irrespective of religion caste or color, people come over here, to have meals. It usually contains the Indian bread chapatti, and dahl (beans/lintens) and some vegetables sometimes and rice also. You will witness people sitting in a row, and it is estimated that 10-15,000 people have free food from over here every day, two times a day; It’s not exclusively for the poor, nor exclusively for the Sikh community.

A culinary experience learning the use of Indian Spices: Experience the culinary culture of India with cooking courses hosted at an Authentic Indian Kitchen hosted at a family home – Learn to cook Indian food, visit a local market for an orientation of Indian Spices. This Experience will give a glimpse into an Indian Home. Chat with a family and enjoy an evening of fun, food & laughter. An enriching Cultural & Culinary experience. Expect stories, traditions and a lot of fun. Relish Indian Food and Cherish some memories. Share a few laughs along the way!


Day 03: Morning Flight from Delhi- Varanasi

We arrive in Varanasi in the morning and transfer to the hotel. Varanasi, one of the seven holiest cities in India and built on the banks of river Ganges, stands at the center of the Hindu Universe. It is always vibrant with thousands of pilgrims, wandering holy men (Sadhus), religious elders and casual visitors. Since the city lives and breathes Hinduism it is visited by over one million pilgrims every year. It is a city to get immersed in by exploring its maze of narrow lanes, visiting temples and watching rituals and ceremonies performed on the Ghats by devotees almost round the clock. Afternoon is free to explore town. In the evening witness the incredible evening aarti (prayer) performed on one of the ghats before returning to the hotel.


Day 04: Full day Sightseeing of Varanasi,Overnight Express train to Agra

Just before dawn we take a boat out on the Ganges to witness the amazing stream of events on the Ghats, the steps leading down to the river. The boat ride takes us past several Ghats of Varanasi offering a glimpse of the city at its religious best. Every day thousands of Hindu pilgrims and devotees visit this city to make holy prayers, to meditate and to purify themselves by taking a dip in the holy river. Later we drive back to the hotel and have breakfast. In the afternoon we drive around 12 kms to Sarnath, the place where Buddha delivered his first sermon. On the day before his death Buddha had pronounced inclusion of Sarnath amongst the most sacred four Buddhist places for his followers. That makes Sarnath one of the most esteemed Buddhist places. Late Evening transfer to railway station to board the overnight train to Agra.


Day 05: Arrival Agra

Early morning arrival at Agra railway station and transfer to hotel. Agra, a City in the North Part of India’s Uttar Pradesh State and which is home to The Iconic World Famous Taj Mahal a mausoleum built for the Mughal ruler Shah Jahan’s wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died in childbirth in 1631. Morning is free at leisure for your own activities or to relax at hotel. Evening make a visit to Taj Mahal, at sunset this magnificent monument in pure white marble. Taj Mahal, a symbol of eternal love, stands on the southern bank of River Yamuna. It was built by the 5th Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died in the 16th century CE. The charisma of the amazing Taj Mahal never fails to leave a first time visitor, spellbound. Evening leave for orientation walk of Agra

Optional Agra Orientation Walk: This evening at 16:00 we start our city walk listening to the holy azaans from mosques, mingling with chiming of the bells from temples, the local sweet shop getting set for offering the evening snacks of Jalebis and Kachories present a different picture of the city. Our Taj Orientation walk connects the tourists with the city. This program emphasis not only on heritage monuments but also the city’s culture, cuisine, craft and life of the local people. The journey winds its way through the narrow lanes of Agra, where people can see the grand old havelies, the oriental markets of Kinari Bazaar, Lohar Gali and spice’s street of Rawat Para. In this tour Tourists get to see heritage monuments like Dara Shikoh’s library, Mirza Ghalib’s birthplace, the Jama Masjid, and churches of different Christian sects, St. Patrick’s Junior College – Asia’s oldest convent and the Akbar Church. On the way, see the locals indulging in afternoon shopping at the shoe mandi in Johri Bazar, the only street of Ayurvedic doctors, the paan and the petha mandi and the food street of Seth Gali. Duration of Walk: 2.5hrs, Distance travelled: 5/6kms on foot and battery operated rickshaws


Day 06:  Sight – seeing of Agra

Today leave for a half day sightseeing of Agra, drive to visit Agra Fort, a blend of different types Rajput and Mughal architecture. An artwork originally belonging to the Rajputs got renovated from time to time by different Mughal emperors with red sandstone, bricks and the beautiful marble from Makarana. The Fort can more accurately be described as a walled palatial city & Itmad Ud Daulah (baby Taj). Evening at Leisure for your own exploration. Evening Visit to the famous Mahatab Bagh to have some random photo shoots across Yamuna river. (Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays’).


Day 07:  Agra – Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri

You may have an optional visit to Taj Mahal at Sunrise on this day, en-route visiting Fatehpur Sikri, the deserted royal city constructed by the Mughal Emperor, Akbar. This impressive and well-preserved citadel served as the political capital of Akbar for 14 years. In 1585 Akbar abandoned Fatehpur Sikri due to dearth of water. We continue our drive to Jaipur. Popularly known as the Pink City, Jaipur is the colorful capital of Rajasthan. With its rich cultural heritage and colorful past, it is one of the most important heritage cities in India. The city was established in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the then ruler of Amer. Also known as ‘The City of Victory’ Jaipur was the first planned city of its time with imposing forts, dazzling palaces, beautiful gardens, lakes and markets. Upon arrival we check-in to the hotel. Rest of the day is free to explore the colorful bazaars of Jaipur.

Temples and Havelis walk of Jaipur: On your exciting walking tour, discover the living traditions of old Jaipur
Experience the religious life of locals by visiting lively temples and taking part in Hindu prayer ceremony. Interact
with residents over a cup of tea in their decorated homes and discover some of the lesser known architectural
wonders of Pink City.

The walk offers an inspiring insight on Jaipur, uncovering some of city’s best kept secrets. During our walk we
will visit ancient Vishnu Temple decorated with marvelous frescos and mythological paintings and Krishna
Temple – a popular and lively temple of Jaipur which offers fascinating experience of Aarti ceremony. Also pass
by old haveli’s, local vibrant spice and grocery markets selling popular items.


Day 08:  Sight – seeing of Jaipur

After breakfast we drive to the ancient capital of Amer, 11 km from Jaipur. Famous for its massive Amber Fort,
Amer was the ancient capital of Kachhawaha dynasty for 6 centuries. We take an Elephant ride Optional an
experience to remember for a long time, to reach the Fort situated on the hill. Having appreciated its beauty and
captured that in our cameras we visit City Palace, a perfect blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. Next, we
visit Jantar Mantar, a Solar Observatory built in the 18 th century; an astronomical treasure house that measures
time according to the movement of the Sun to an error of just 2 seconds with solar devices that give accurate
astrological predictions as well till date. We also visit Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), a five-storied facade of pink
sandstone. It was built in the year 1799 to allow royal ladies to watch processions and other the festivities on the
road through its 953 ‘jharokas’ or small windows without being seen by the public. Rest of the day is free to
explore the colorful bazaars of Jaipur.


Day 09:  Jaipur – Delhi

Today we drive back to Delhi. Overnight at Hotel


Day 10:  Departure

Morning After Breakfast Departure transfer to Airport for your onward journey to home.
